The Dove Laser Center proudly introduces the new state of the art LADARVISION 4000.  The LADARVISION arrived November 5, 2004 and eye surgery was performed, November 12, 2004.  This is the newest laser technology and is unique to Central New York, at 4350 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY. Dr. Anthony Palumbo, Medical Director of The Dove Laser Center, uses the LADARVISION 4000 Excimer laser, which is the first approved tracker-guided, small spot laser.  Precision shaping of the cornea depends upon accurate placement of the laser beam.  Even when the patient is unaware their eyes are constantly making fine movements, which are beyond the patient’s control LADARTRACKER uses laser and radar technology, developed for NASA, to track the position of the eye 4000 times per second, thereby maintaining accurate placement of the beam.  LADARVISION’s cool, flying, small spot laser beam, which is less than 1 millimeter in size, allows micron size reshaping of the cornea.  This offers precision previously unavailable to laser vision patients. Therefore, yesterday’s blades are now replaced by today’s Wavefront Advanced Surface ablation, which is the gold standard for refractive surgery. The LADARVISION 4000 Excimer laser has been inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame and granted licensing rights to the Certified Space Technology Program and seal.  This unit is the only laser eye surgery system in the world to receive such an award and licensing privileges.
